About GMT Corporation

A strong, stable manufacturer in business nearly 50 years.

DELIVERING HIGH QUALITY PARTS ON TIME SINCE 1973

For nearly five decades GMT Corporation has been a mission critical partner to equipment OEMs, supplying the globe with products for Defense, Agriculture, Construction, Infrastructure, Craning & Lifting, Oil & Gas, Rail & Transportation, Wind Energy and Aerospace/Air Support.

From humble beginnings as a family owned machine shop that started out of a garage in 1973, to today where we manufacture hundreds of parts & assemblies out of three facilities totaling roughly 400,000 square feet, our 200+ employees proudly serve customers around the globe.

In 2019 GMT was acquired by Summit Agricultural Group, an investment partner which currently manages more than $600 million in assets in the United States and Brazil. As part of our 2020 10-Year Growth Plan, Steve Snedegar joined the company to serve as our President/CEO in March of 2020. “We are committed to excellence and even more committed to growth. Our first 50 years were really great…our next 50 will be legendary!”

Quality, Delivery & Continuous Improvement are foundational elements to our House of Strategy (found here). We strive for and routinely achieve a less than 250PPM Quality target. We also routinely deliver on an enterprise OTD target of 98%. Both of these are considered World Class for manufacturing companies. We are committed to driving CI, proactively giving back cost-basis efficiency gains to our customers.

We have a five-decade long rich history grounded in Midwestern family & community values. GMT believes in investing in people, growth, technology and the community. We employ the best talent in the Cedar Valley and continue to invest heavily into training & development in the form of internships, a robust onboarding & initial training for all new employees, continuous cross-training, career pathing and leadership development. We continue to invest in commercial resources, new manufacturing capabilities and plant automation. GMT supports the local community through partnerships with schools and businesses as well as supporting a multitude of charitable causes.
